The Audience type

What is an audience?

Audience is a group of people who participate in a show. For example they are the people who watch plays or see things differently. In contrast to immediate audiences, mediated audiences are composed of individuals who consume rhetorical texts in a manner that is different from the time or place in which the speaker presents a text. Audiences who consume texts or speeches through television, radio, and Internet are considered mediated audiences because those mediums separate the mediators and the audience. Understanding the size and composition of mediated audiences can be difficult because mediums such as television, radio, and Internet can displace and have different view points all the time.

Why do we need to study audience?

We need to study audience to understand the concept of individual’s views on certain advertisement so they have their own point of views on particular genre.

Niche Market

Niche market is a product which focuses on a specific audience type. Therefore the market niche defines the specific feature which is aimed at satisfying market needs. For example the price can play a big role on the decisions that are made for the product. Likewise spots channels like ESPN Star Sport, Fox, sky sports are all small segment market.it is aimed to a wide demographic audience with a low price which meets the needs of the relevant audience type.

Mass market

The mass market is a general business term describing the largest group of consumers for a specified industry product. It is the opposite extreme of the term niche market. The mass market is the group of consumers who occupy the overwhelming mass of a bell curve for common household products, i.e. they could be tagged as being "average".

Segmentation

Segmentation is the process of dividing markets.  It’s to split those customers who are valued more than some other customers who are in the lower hierarchy.
Segmentation is also to do with the customer’s values and therefore the relationship between customer and markets. This either benefits the audiences or either the market. There is the possibility that different customer might have different needs and might be aiming for a different attraction or affect. However if the customers are a frontline segmentation, it’s important to create profile groups that’s suites the general population group.
Marketing is important for personalisation and also customising the product. For example one factor that affects this dilemma is the rankings of different age groups. It can have a big influence on the way you deliver certain massages as their viewpoints to the general topic might be differently interrupted by the youthful population. As a result the marketing would therefore customise their product suiting a typical age group that they would want to attract.

What does the title suggest?

The title suggests that it’s mainly to do with a band and therefore it’s in the left hand side. It’s also a band name (Enime) which identifies which audience type it’s aimed at. Therefore it’s aimed for the people who love alternative music and their lifestyle is more casual and their personalities are more open to wider range of music. The masthead also defines the typical audience, it is bold and snappy which stands it more because it’s convenient and publicly eye catching. The white outlines emphasis the title so that it reflects to the visual branching of the magazine. Mediation etc

Mediation
Mediation is used in many commercial, legal diplomatic, and workplace to discuss matters in the third parties. Typically a third party has its own opinion   on the disputes and gather in together to negotiate a settlement. Therefore when a solution has been developed this then gets forward to the public and they might have their own opinion on that particular news.
For example the sky sports news brings out news more often than any other broadcasts on TV. However they use mediation and use the items that are more relevant for the main focus to the audience.
Mediation three things to look for:
Selection
This is when the news story has been selected from hundreds of others. A decision has been made from this viewed news and the resolution is to choose those which are more interesting to us and the less interesting news has been left out.
Organisation
Organising the main ideas and placing it on a newspaper is very crucial. All the various elements are organised in a typical way were its different to real life events happening.in addition whereas in visual media this involves mise-en – scene. The production might involve in remixing a track to change its context and how it’s viewed.
Focusing
Overall the mediation always ends up to the targeted audience which is always us. Focusing therefore tries to convey an idea which is more important for the mediators therefore we forget about other aspect of the media and concentrate on the important things. This includes a film being pan towards an important character however in the end we make our own decisions about what is worth our attention.
The construction views
This is mainly the feeling and interpretations of a person’s views on the other theories (reflective view and intentional view).this gives you options to make your own interpretations of films and other media where the influence of society is based on your own opinion.
It includes
  • Opinions of the people doing the presentation
  • The reaction of these individuals
  • The context of the society
  • Dominate Ideology
These are the main opinions that are shared by a majority of people. These are mainly the main ideas that people have about a complex issue but if this ideology is shared by a majority of people a culture it is called the dominate ideology.
