My research of UK magazines
The UK magazines that are being used and out for sale in the UK
NME ROCK CLASSIC
KERRANG
KERRANG
Q
Many of these magazine have a catchy and snappy front cover some more writing then others but they all have the aim of an immediate addressing to the audience to have their full concentration.
however the target audience of some magazines shown above do change and have either a variety of audience or some mainly targeted to attract working class or teenage adults.
For example NME has a specific target audience and the founder of the (New Musical Express) has established himself as a well know producer for the range age from 16-19 having developed a different type to the target audience which are mainly rock middle class rural or even urban people who like fast pace music. With the new updates to the NME style of front cover having famous classic R&B artist it has attracted other consumers to by the product that has emerged it self since September 28th 2009
The other magazines which are also interesting is KERRANG which is mainly published every week and attracted million of audiences world wide because of its original KERRANG logo and representing many different famous artist. Its aims is to surprise the audience and make them get involve more as the colors chosen are bright colors. As their aim is to attract a target audiences of roughly around 16 and over as the publisher Buer has developed this magazine so that it becomes a Scremo rock type of magazine which was also helped by the editor Nichola Brown.
Since 1999 ROCK SOUND music has been published weekly by addition freeway. The target audience for this magazine is mainly 16 and over for its unique rock urban feeling to it.The people that are would mainly be interested in this type of music is punk people because the colors are mainly black and white.
The interesting thing about q music is it doesn't consistently target a specific audiences because its niche market and its producers are mainly focused of upcoming artist and to introduce them to the global industry. It has been published monthly by a group called Bauer group which has hugely developed to be a well known as a whole a very famous magazine design.this has ranged from artist such as Van Morrison to Micheal Jackson in 2009.

There is also a huge difference compared with the consumers of male and females as women have left to be given more options in choosing their style of magazine as they are well known to love fashion and design which makes the niche market in pressure to produce quality magazines at a fast rate to fulfill the needs of the aimed target audiences.from shown in the graph above and the figures it shows that there is many publisher that have some improved the quality of their magazine front cover and some that have chosen to improve their magazine front cover without the need of changing much therefore the creating of these new magazines has a big issue globally as the economy suffers because there is more money being needed to develop and produce the magazine.Compared to this present day there has been recent trends that has shown that the sale figures of magazines such as Kerrang and or healthy man or even sport has been a real success over time because there is more people being interested in those things.
The outcome by doing the research
As a whole I am going to try and produce a magazine front cover with a genre of R&B as modern hip hop music is increasingly getting more people to by their products I think the rivalry there would be intense with my final magazine as they have as a whole a better circulation average of over 16,000.i have chosen this sub genre because its a well established famous core genre in producing better artist in generation to generation so this means that they also use good contrasting colors with the front cover catching an audiences attention immediately because of the big bold zoomed in musician. i think the EMAP would be suitable for my magazine sub genre.the best thing about my magazine is that it will be colorful and will have a specific target audiences as mainly Q don't have specific target audiences I will develop they style of the front cover making sure the font it big and bold and stylish with a famous artist.
